Super Nacho or Nacho Libre

Nacho Nacho

Tuesday evenings are movie evenings and the first movie here was great ¡¡¡ Lots of fun. When they told me we were going to see a movie about tantra, I thought it would be something like a historical documentary. No way, we saw a real movie and above all very funny. So where was the tantra ? In the symbols that were used to make the story of Nacho. Nacho is a common fat child. But he has a dream : he wants to be a wrestler and famous. (his dharma) Then he gets into an orphanage run by monks and he is made to be a cook. He cooks awful because it is not what he is meant to do and all the time he is daydreaming of being Nacho, the big wrestler. The monks represent the doctrine of sin and duty. One day a young beautiful nun appears to give class to the orphans and of course Nacho falls in love with her. But as they are both 'with god' he eats biscuits in her room. As the female aspect came into his life, Nacho is getting tired of being a cook and he finds a companion to go wrestling as a team. He still wants to be glorious and famous, but actually they get paid for loosing and the fool that they make out of themselves. With the money he earns, he buys good food for the orphanage and he starts to cook a healthy, more inspired way, to honor his nun (the goddess). But feeling this love, he wants still to be a great fighter. She says it is bad except when he does it for the purpose to serve others (detachment of the ego)
So one day the monks discover about his other life (dualism) and they trow him out. His companion finds him and says he can win if he believes in science and he is supposed to drink the yolk of an eagles egg to make him fly. In the battle he finds that science does not work either. So he is really depressed and makes a vow to god that he is going to spend all his money to the orphans. This does not work either. One evening he is going to have his big fight with the biggest one around and he invites his nun to come. He declares his love and his desire to have a normal life, having someone with him (kama). He is loosing as always until the nun with all the orphans appears in the audience. As he feels supported and loved, fear and the sense of sin has fallen away from him, the shiva and shakti energies come into a balance, and all of a sudden he can fly as an eagle and beats the biggest fighter who was only fighting to have power over people. With the money he gains he buys a bus so he can go on excursion with his big family : his nun and the orphans and they live happily ever after.
And they live according to artha, kama and dharma and shiva and shakti are in balance.
Elements that Tantra helps you to get rid off are : religious doctrine, science doctrine, social doctrines, fear, sin, power, manipulation, frustration. Once rid of these self blocking elements you can achieve whatever dream you have and weave your life according to it.
So this was a movie that gave good food for thought and on top of that it was very funny:
